Snuggle Time With Daddy

Daddy was off for two weeks during the Christmas holiday and he used his time well. He snuggled with his boys .... is that so wrong? Absolutely not! In fact, it's kinda cute!! Wesley won't be able to do this for very long so he thought it was best to take advantage now while he still can!

Awwwwww :)

The Godfather

A couple days ago, the boys got to spend some quality time with their Godfather Mark. He had his hands full! Literally!

It's Christmas!

We had our very First Christmas with the boys this year! We had a blast! Jackson woke up super excited and ready to go! Jameson, on the other hand, was fast asleep! In fact, nothing would get him going, except his early morning bottle! Once they were fed, we took them downstairs to see what Santa brought for them for Christmas! Their eyes were alive! They couldn't wait to get their wee hands all over those beautifully wrapped gifts! They wore the paper off and went to town! It was so cute!

Christmas Morning at Home

Waking up with laryngitis ... not so cute! But I somehow managed to channel my inner LC (Lauren Conrad that is) and took advantage of my newfound raspy voice. The boys were spoiled rotten by both of their everyone, especially their Grandparents and their Aunts and Uncles! The boys even received an extra special visit from a certain Mr. Santa Claus on his day off! How lucky is that!

All the kiddies with Santa Claus!

Here are two photos of the boys with their favourite Grandparents! Notice something about these photos? Both their hands are in their mouths in both these shots! Oy!

And last but not least, I had to post a photo of yours truly! I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! We sure did!

Twas The Night Before Christmas ...

Who put my socks on over my pants? Not cool!

... when all through the house. Not a creature was stirring ... except for Jackson and Jameson who wanted to sit on the kitchen counter and look cute! This was taken right before we gave them a bath. As you can see, their hair is getting super long and difficult to manage. In fact, it's starting to curl! But that only happens when they get super hot after a good snuggle with Mummy or Daddy!

It's The Most Wonderful Fridge Of The Year!

We received quite a few photo Christmas Cards this year so our fridge was full of joy! There's actually two missing from this photo! Happy Holidays!

Cousins Forever

It's nice to see that Jackson and Jameson will always have their cousins to grow up and old with! I can just see it now and it spells trouble! :)

It's Your "Baptisme" Day!

Getting baptised ... what a good looking family! ;)

The boys got baptised yesterday! Hooray! And it was a great day! Now ... is it so wrong that one of the highlights for me was their baptismal cake? It was seriously amazing! Not only did it look absolutely incredible, it tasted like heaven! I was so happy with the way it turned out! Some of you may know that I am taking a class in cake decorating. In fact, some of you have been treated to my delectable treats but I cannot take credit for baking or decorating this cake. I was just way too busy with other more pressing matters (chuckle). But the gal I hired to create this cake used my ideas and just blew us all away. If you're looking at this cake with large amounts of drool hanging down your chin, you should know that it was a blueberry sponge cake with blueberry cheesecake flavoured buttercream. All the decorations, including the sugar babies (molded in the likes of Jax and Jaz) were also edible and oh-so-yummy. Did I eat the sugar babies? Seriously, how could you even ask me a question like that! I couldn't eat them ... I just couldn't! So, we stored them in a safe place for the boys to see when they're older!

Yum-O!!!

Oh right ... I almost forgot to write about their baptism (laugh). The ceremony was beautiful! We were so worried about them spitting up and ruining their outfits during the ceremony, but they didn't spit up once! Thank goodness for that! And they didn't cry once ... in fact, Jackson slept in my arms for most of the ceremony haha! Anyway, they looked so handsome in their little satin suits and hats! But if I had to pick what I loved the most, it would have to be the leather shoes they wore that said "My Baptisme Day" on the side LOL! I think they were from Portugal. Too funny!

They were lovingly fighting each other when this shot was taken

We are so happy to welcome Auntie Nessa and Uncle Mark into our family! As Godparents, we know that they will guide our boys in the way of the Lord. They'll also be highly influenced by Mark's musical abilities and Vanessa's style sense! We're looking forward to starting many family traditions with the Joseph and Lovery-Pham Family!

The Aftermath

Check out the rice cereal spitup on Raffi the Giraffi

And this is what happened after we fed Jameson rice cereal ... who knew he'd start sleeping on his tummy! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

A Whole New World ...

... of food that is! The boys started eating solid foods today! They're almost 6 months old, so it's time (sniff). Actually, they've been ready for a while. They watch us intently when we eat. They grab for any sort of utensil we have in our hands (or mouth). They're also losing interest in their bottle, all tell tales signs that it's time to step it up a notch. So, we're trying out organic rice cereal with them this week. And we're hoping that it'll keep their spitup issue under control, especially for their Baptism next week. Anyway, both Jackson and Jameson loved eating rice cereal. They grabbed for the spoon and had a blast! And it's only just begun!

Here's Jameson enjoying his first taste of heaven in an orange bowl.
Gimme Gimme Gimme!

Oh boy, this is good stuff!

Please sir ... can I have some more?

And onto Jackson who equally enjoyed his first experience with solids!

I don't know about this stuff Daddy ...

Fooled you, this stuff rocks!

Mmmmm! I could get used to all this extra food!

Gangsta in the Making!

Wasssssup!

Jameson just cracks me up! He's so cool and calm. And tonight, he showed his gansta side. Who knew! Maybe he was reacting to my new "do". Yup! I got my haircut again. I don't have much of a life outside of my boys these days (not that I'm complaining), so getting my haircut is the best I can do to keep it interesting! :)

Man, are we good lookin' or what! ;)

Drool For Sale!

Five bibs a day - lots of laundry
One piercing stare - heartbreaker in the making
A perfect line of drool - priceless

Sleepy Smiles

I caught a precious moment on video yesterday! Jameson and Jackson were having a nap in Mummy and Daddy's bed. Jameson started giggling so I ran for the camera, but all I got was his sleepy smiles. No giggles on this video, but his smiles will warm your heart! Enjoy!

We're Big Boys Now!

My happy happy boys!

Our boys are getting so big! They're sitting up like big boys on our leather couch (sniff). Where did my little babies go? As much as I love watching them grow, I also wish I could freeze precious moments, such as this, in time. I wish they could be little babies forever! Looking at them now, I can't believe they were only 4 pounds when they were born! Time is flying by .... I feel so ... old!

Big chair, little man, and one lonely guitar!

Sweet Dreams Are Made Of ...

Jackson was having one of his favourite dreams - about milk of course!

Please don't wake me! I'm slumbering!

Diapers Anyone?

Living with twins means twice the love ... and twice the diapers! I love when diapers go on sale! This time, I filled up my cart and bought 18 packs from No Frills! That should last us a while, I hope! Thanks Auntie!

Is it too early to start potty training? :)

Again, He Is Not A Toy!

Wanna know why Jameson looks so sad in this photo?

It's because he knew Daddy was going to put his pants over his head that night! Don't ask why! And don't look at me! I'm just the photographer!

Daddy .... WHY?

The Baby Whisperer

That's right, it's Auntie! Who knew she still has that magic touch! Auntie was clearly born to (and will always) be a great Mother! She has natural motherly instincts. No wonder we loved hanging out at Auntie's when we were kids!

I enjoy having a snuggle or two with my boys before bedtime! Trust me, they like it too! :)

Quality Time

Jax and Jaz got to spend some quality time with family over the weekend! The boys met Santina for the first time and Jax spit up all over his Nani. And check out Pappy's smile ... priceless!

Doctors? Nah! They're going to be STARS!

Daddy's Rocker and Mommy's Star (how fitting)!

So, the boys had a fun day with the film crew from The Mom Show! The guys (Otto, Eric, Matt, and G-Man) arrived at 800am and stayed until 430pm filming a "day in the life" of The Russell Family! It's going to air sometime next year!

Why our family? Because we are super cool, that's why! And the boys were so well behaved! We couldn't have asked for a better day! Even though this particular talk show focuses more on Moms and their wee ones, they did a special piece on Daddies and spoke to Wesley about being a father and how music plays an important role in their lives (given that he is a rockin' musician and instructor). Wesley also got to bathe the boys on camera, which was great, because it meant I didn't have to do it that night! Sucker! ;)

The crew from The Mom Show with Jackson & Jameson

I actually wasn't sure if I wanted to do the show at all. But I quickly realised that it would be a once in a lifetime opportunity that we couldn't pass up! And it'll be something we, as a family, can look back on later in life and enjoy! We can't wait to see it! We'll let you know when it airs! :)

Do You Like My New Hat?

I love waking up to this type of sillyness! It makes tired mornings so worth while! And I swear, I did not do this! This is all Jax!

First Jameson, Now Jackson!

"Hmm this place seems familiar"

Two serious infections in 5 months! What gives! This time, Jackson was the victim of a UTI (urinary tract infection). He started crying early one afternoon, just like Jameson did when he got sick, and we just knew something was up. We gave him some Baby Tylenol and watched him for the afternoon. By 400pm, he was back to his normal self. But at 700pm, a fever spiked and we knew we had to bring him in! He spent 4 days at McMaster on IV antibiotics and will need 10 days of oral antibiotics now that he's home. He's been in good spirits despite his bout with diarhhea and diaper rash. Unfortunately, we missed out on celebrating Halloween with the boys so we celebrated the occasion at McMaster! They wore their hospital scrubs (I know, very appropriate) and mingled with the ladies err ... nurses!

Jackson & Jameson, our little heartbreakers!

We've learned what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger and we've been through so much with these boys already ... nothing really phases us! I guess that's a good thing. We're just hoping that this is it for the time being. As much as we love Hotel McMaster, we love our home better!

Kids at Heart!

Vanessa taking a 5 minute break to play with the kiddies

Halloween is quickly approaching and we wanted to make sure that we enjoyed every moment of it. So, Vanessa and I decided to hang out with the kiddies one night and carve pumpkins. I'm not just a yummy mummy you know! I have mad skillz!

My finished pumpkin!

Anyway, I forgot how time consuming it is to carve out a pumpkin, but it was well worth the effort! Not that Vanessa and I were competing for the title of Best Pumpkin Carver Extraordinaire but I totally won this battle and she'll completely admit it! Vanessa carved a castle and I carved four ghosts singing entitled "Rhythm and Boos". Get it! :)

Yes, I know, it rocks!

Tummy Time is Tiring!

We put the boys on their tummies every day to strengthen their necks, arms, and back. They don't always like being on their tummies, so we put Baby Einstein on for them as an incentive to look up and maintain their hold. Trust me, it works most of the time!

Am I tired or am I bored? You decide!

Boys Being Boys

You know that saying, a picture is worth a thousand words? Well, I was having one of those nights with the boys. Instead of going into a long winded explanation about what happened, I thought I'd post a few photos! Enjoy! :)

Jameson isn't pleased that I'm grabbing his leg but I don't care!

It looks so tasty! I just wanna bite it a bit ... just a little bit ...

Aww Ma! I was just getting started! Hmmph! You're getting my super pout!
